I’d never seen a moon flower before last year at Gerry and Becky Smith’s home in Morehead City. We watched its blossoms go from completely closed to completely open in minutes. The setting sun seemed to excite it no end. It quivered and quaked and twisted in the moonlight until it was in full blossom.
Becky gave us an offshoot in a small pot. We brought it home and planted it in (apparently) the right spot. Now we get to see this fun in our own yard in Little Washington.
