Our town is fondly know by most as Little Washington. It sits on the north bank where the Tar River becomes the Pamlico River. The town got its name in 1776 to honor General George Washington (changed from Forks of the Tar). It was incorporated in 1782.
Neighbors Ward and Peggy Bissey invited Kitty & I to join them on their boat to watch fireworks last night. It was a perfect night for it--all clear with a light breeze less than 24 hours after the passing of Hurricane Arthur.
