Kitty has been watching a mom and dad loggerhead shrike pair for the past couple of months. They fuss and complain every time she walks by. Today there was more noise than usual. The young had fledged and were scuffling about the lawn and dogwoods where they were hatched.

This is Kitty’s second big breeding sighting this year on her walks. The other was of Mississippi kites.
