Mississippi Kites are not common in our area. Kitty has watched several through the spring. While I got a few looks, photo opportunities were rare. Kitty hollered on the phone a few days ago to tell me she had spotted one perched. I jumped in the car and rushed over. Frankly, it was beyond the means of my equipment, but I shot anyway.
Her other big find while walking this year was a pair of nesting loggerhead shrikes. I published their picture yesterday as they fuss over fledglings.
